ABOUT FERTILE FOODS
Fertile Foods was born from a desire to support healthy habits from preconception all the way to the family dinner table. It is our belief, that when men and women make healthy food and lifestyle changes while trying to conceive, they prepare their system for a healthy pregnancy and a lifetime of wellbeing for their entire family.
At Fertile Foods, our goal is to share recipes and resources that support you getting pregnant, having a healthy pregnancy, nourishing your baby and sharing delicious meals as a family.
My journey through the wonderful world of holistic healing began when I had the opportunity to meet Randine Lewis, author of The Infertility Cure and The Way of the Fertile Soul. As a patient she confronted health issues that I had dealt with for years and as a student I absorbed all of the wisdom she had to impart. And so my journey continued from Randine Lewis to Paul Pitchford, author of Healing with Whole Foods. I have seen both sides: First as a patient and then as practitioner. In both I found healing and truth in whole foods, relaxation, and many of the techniques of Chinese medicine. I believe that the bounty of the earth and wisdom of centuries passed can heal the damages wreaked on the female body by the stress and lifestyle of our modern world.
I experienced the healing power of a whole food diet and have been blessed to train and study with the foremost experts in the fields of women’s health, whole food, and fertility. Today I use both Eastern and Western nutritional therapies in a three-tiered approach that guides my clients toward improved levels of balanced health. I have also written a cookbook based on my nutritional therapies, Cooking for Fertility: Foods to Nourish Your Fertile Soul, along with an instructive dvd to guide women towards healthier habits.
As the founder of FertileFoods.com my intention is to support men and women from the childbearing years all the way to the family dinner table by prioritizing relaxation, pleasure, exercise, healthy foods and high quality nutrient supplementation.
The most important aspect in our relationship with our bodies and food is pleasure. Pleasure tells us whether or not we are moving in the right direction with the choices we are making. So many of my clients have struggled with dietary and lifestyle restrictions that take the joy out of eating and cooking. A healthy relationship with food involves enjoying what we are eating and finding healthful choices that improve our wellbeing. There is nothing that we can’t eat, but there are certainly more healthful choices that will relieve us of unwanted symptoms and leave us feeling better than we thought possible. The key to long-term wellness is to build a holistic program around how we take care of ourselves from relaxation to exercise and finally with the nutrients we put in our body. When we begin to nourish ourselves before getting pregnant, our health benefits are multiplied through pregnancy, breastfeeding, our baby’s first bites and our entire family dinner table.
Our mission is to promote the enjoyment of food, exercise and relaxation from pre-conception all the way to the family dinner table by sharing delicious recipes, relevant health news and high quality, natural products.
